Submission Criteria
Authors are invited to submit *original research articles, **reviews, **case studies, and **clinical trials* that contribute to the field of medical sciences and laboratory medicine. Submissions must be:
- Unpublished and not under consideration by any other journal.
- Written in clear, concise English, adhering to the journal's style and formatting guidelines.
- Accompanied by a declaration of any potential conflicts of interest.
Manuscript Preparation
Manuscripts should be organized as follows:
- Title page with full title and subtitle (if any).
- Abstract summarizing the study's main findings and significance.
- Keywords to assist indexers in cross-referencing your article.
- Introduction providing the background and stating the research question.
- Methods section detailing the experimental or analytical approach.
- Results section presenting the data and findings.
- Discussion interpreting the results and their implications.
- Conclusions summarizing the study's contributions to the field.
- References formatted according to Vancouver referencing style
- Tables, figures, and supplementary materials clearly labeled and referenced in the text.
Ethical Considerations
Authors must ensure that their research complies with all ethical standards, including:
- Informed consent for studies involving human participants.
- Approval by relevant ethics committees for animal studies.
- Proper attribution and permission for any borrowed material.
Peer Review Process
Initial Screening
All submissions undergo an initial screening to assess their suitability for the journal. Manuscripts that do not meet the submission criteria or are outside the journal's scope will be rejected at this stage.
Double-Blind Review
Manuscripts passing the initial screening are subjected to a double-blind peer review, where both the reviewers' and authors' identities are kept confidential. The review process evaluates:
- Originality and significance of the research.
- Methodological rigor and validity of conclusions.
- Clarity of presentation and adherence to journal standards.
Decision and Revisions
Based on the reviewers' feedback, the editorial board will make a decision:
- Accept without revision.
- Accept with minor revisions.
- Revise and resubmit.
- Reject.
Authors will be given clear instructions for any required revisions and a deadline for resubmission.

APC Policy
The Nexus of Medicine and Laboratory Science Journal is an open-access publication, meaning all articles are freely available to readers. To cover the costs of publication, we charge an Article Processing Charge (APC).
Revenue Source Declaration
The journal is an independent, self-funded journal that does not receive financial support from any organization or institution. Our publication is made possible through the Article Processing Charges (APCs) paid by authors whose manuscripts are accepted for publication.
The APCs cover the costs associated with the publication process, including:
- Editorial and peer-review management
- Professional copyediting and proofreading
- Layout and design
- Online hosting and maintenance
- Indexing and abstracting services
We are committed to transparency in our financial operations and want to assure authors that their payments are used solely for the purposes of publishing and disseminating their research.
APC Amount
The APC for accepted articles is ₦30,000 ($50), payable upon acceptance of the manuscript. This fee ensures that your work is disseminated widely and accessible to all.
Payment Procedure
Authors whose works are accepted will receive an invoice with detailed payment instructions.
